GETTING STAINS OUT
It can be really frustrating when you have a stain in your clothes. Here are some tips to help the stain removal process:
- Treat it right away! Do not wait a long time to deal with a stain. The longer you wait the harder it is to remove the stain because it has settled in.
- Check the tag. Before you decide to spot clean, check the tag! If the stain is on a dry clean only fabric, do not try to spot clean. This could cause damage to the fabric. If it is a dry clean only fabric, bring it in right away.
- Point the stain out. It is important to point out the stain that you are concerned about when dropping off your clothes. By highlighting the stain, it allows us to focus and work on the stain more thoroughly.
- Remember the details! It is important you remember what the stain is and how long it has settled for. This will allow us to give a more realistic idea of whether or not the stain can be thoroughly removed.
FABRICS
No fabric is the same. This is important to remember when caring for your fabrics to
ensure their longevity. Some common fabrics and general cleaning tips:
- Basic blends.
Basic blends can consists of many different combinations of fabrics. For that reason, it is very important to read the label when cleaning a blend. If there is not an advised method, clean according to the primary fiber in the blend.
- Linen. It is best to dry clean linen because it wrinkles very easily.
- Silk. Always dry clean silk.
- Cashmere. This fabric can be machined washed in cold water, but drying at home can be difficult. You should never attempt to wring cashmere- it will damage the fibers. Dry cleaning is the best way to ensure that you are safely caring for your fabric.
- Blue jeans. This fabric can be cared for at home. Its best to turn your blue jeans inside out and wash in a cold or gentle cycle. Dry cleaning your blue jeans can ensure the longevity of this fabric.
- Hemp. It is best to machine-wash this fabric. Dry cleaning is not normally recommended for this fabric.
- Leather & Suede. There is a special process in cleaning leather and suede. It is important to bring these fabrics in to be dry-cleaned. Using water to clean these fabrics will damage them.
